The Ruby-Throated HummingbirdClick Here to See the Project
As luck would have it, Lucy and Grace were assigned to be partners for the End-of-School Showcase. The project was supposed to be done about an animal that lives in the Congaree National Park. They were assigned The Ruby-Throated Hummingbird, and the project was to make a website about the animal. They worked very hard on the project, and this is the final piece. Enjoy learning about this magnificent bird! |

Stella and Luna
Stars and Moon Lucy I recently got these two adorable 8-week old kittens. They sleep about 50% of the time and run around destroying the house the other 50%. Stella, slightly smaller than Luna, has less white on her belly, is extremely adventurous, and loves to snuggle. Luna, on the other hand, has a moon-shaped white mark on her belly, stays closer to humans, and likes to sleep in people's laps. They are both amazing additions to the family and I love them with all of my heart. |
How to Write Fancily
|
1) Do not use contractions. It will always sound better when
you say "would have" than "would've".
2) Remove unneeded words. For Example: instead of "when you're eating" say "when eating" 3) Avoid the word "you". FE: Instead of "When you're eating, you should be careful", say “When eating, one should be careful" 4) Don't overdo it. It's easy to spot a fake whenever they overuse 'shall', 'thy' or (the very worst never ever ever ever use) 'ye'. You will look exceedingly uneducated. 5) Use a large vocabulary, but make sure you are confident that you know what each word means. 6) Don't say 'very'. 'Very tired' can easily be 'exhausted'. 'Very hungry' can be 'famished' or 'ravenous'. 7) Always be clear, and make sure you speak confidently. |

I Was Trying Out Photography And This is What I Got Lucy |
All of the little Doctor Who things made, bought, painted, designed by my family. However, this is not all of it due to the fact I did not have enough time to take a million pictures.

Code Key
Lucy This is a key to simple codes I use in my daily life at school. The most common ones are code red, code orange, code blue, code grey, and code white. I find it hilarious to be sitting in class and see the person beside me playing games, then whisper "code red" to Grace. That way we aren't telling on the person because we are the only ones who understand the code. Have fun using this key! |
The Story of Milka
Lucy Once upon a time, in a school very like you own, there was young girl known to the world as "Grace". Grace had a small pencil case like no other. Another girl, named Lucy, loved this pencil case with all of her heart. She thought it was absolutely adorable! Then, one day, while playing Quiz Up, in the category "Name the Candy", she stumbled upon a picture of Milka. From that moment on she realized that Milka was a chocolate company, and that this tiny cow was given to Grace filled with chocolate. This does not change the fact that Milka has a special place in her heart, and she will always dream of getting her own little Milka. |
Homemade Glue
Lucy
Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup of Flour
1 or 1 1/4 cup(s) of water
Salt (optional; amount doesn't matter. It preserves the glue)
Directions:
In a medium sized mixing bowl pour 1 cup of flour. Add 1 — 1/4 cup(s) of flour. Stir well. Add an optional amount of salt. Stir until it looks and feels like normal glue. Pour into a container of choice (I recommend using an old glue bottle). Shake. Enjoy gluing stuff together!

Grace: I just remembered this going through my pictures. I did the place settings for my family's Thanksgiving dinner and found a lot of cool things at Pier 1 Imports.
Grace: My room has been taken over because I'm trying to do a consignment sale and change the theme of my room to travel-themed at the same time. anyway, here are some example of my DIY things around the room. I'm still keeping my art wall, though.

Can You Write in Cursive? -Lucy
Lucy: While recently taking the SAT, I noticed that most of the people in my test taking group did not know how to write in cursive. It was required on the back of the test booklet, and many people panicked. I created these using the app Pic Collage to help out anyone who doesn't know this vital skill.
Grace: I'll post handwriting samples later.

Boxing Day Tradition
Lucy H.
Photo by Lucy H. using several apps.
Okay, so you know how your family has a weird tradition of some sort? Well my family's is Boxing Day. You have probably gathered that I'm a tiny bit obsessed with Doctor Who right? Well our Boxing Day Tradition is to watch 12 hours in a row of Doctor Who. It is our Annual Marathon where we invite a bunch of people over, have a huge bag of Cromer's Popcorn (Guaranteed Worst In Town), and watch 12 hours of Doctor Who leading up to the finale: That year's Christmas Special.
The whole thing takes place in our Doctor Who themed room complete with a projector and giant screen, walls painted like the TARDIS, posters galore, my autographed picture of David Tennant (the 10th doctor), and every episode, action figure, and book ever made. My dad loves it just as much, or maybe a teensy bit more, than I do. And that is saying something. Just in case you were wondering, Boxing Day is the day after Christmas and was originally celebrated by people and their servants as an after Christmas celebration. My dad started our tradition in 1999 so it has been going on for 15 years. I hope it remains a family tradition for at least 100 more. Christmas is just Boxing Day Eve (I love Christmas too though).
Grace's Surprise Cat
Grace: This is my cat, who is also named Lucy. I talk about her a lot.
Lucy: You have a cat named Lucy??!!! Why hasn't this come up before??
Grace: I named her before I met you.
Lucy: Well then, I am suddenly much less honored.
